Have you ever heard of Kopi Luwak? This is probably one, of not the, most expensive type of coffee in the world. Produced in Asia, maily Indonesia and Vietnam, this coffee bean goes through a unique... "marinating" process.
Simply put, coffee beans of coffee berries are eaten by a type of possum looking cat called the Asian Palm Civet. The cat lets the bean pass through it's entire GI system and the bean is picked from their poop.
Ew.
People gather the beans, wash, sun-dry, and sell. After being brewed and roasted, the coffee is suppose to be less bitter than most coffees. Is that why Vietnamese coffee tastes so good? j/k, j/k.
At $160 a pound, who wouldn't want to try this coffee? I sure as hell wouldn't. >.<
