On Tues, July 7th, we left Kaohsiung to the city of Tainan via Train. It's always a pain getting on the train with so much luggage. We were able to meet up with Vicky, Carolyn's mom (for those of you who don't know, Carolyn was one of our foreign exchange students in high school). She took us to her preschool. As principal, she is a very busy person, so we didn't want to inconvenience her too much; therefore, we only stayed the day.
We ate out at a Thai restaurant that was pretty famous there.

Then we were trying to find things to do- she suggested some relaxation stuff (like massages, facials, etc.) but they were all booked out. I guess Taiwanese people really know how to pamper themselves when it comes to breaks. ^^;; We narrowed it down to a movie or getting our nails done, and we opted for the latter choice. I got a pedi + mani for only 200 NT! *drum roll for the conversion* That's $7 USD.... Yeah, way.
Unfortunately today I wasn't feeling so good, due to the monthly curse upon us women, so my 1 day visit was kind of spoiled. Catherine and I chilled at a Starbucks near Eslite bookstore where we waited for Vicky ayi to get her stuff done.
She picked us up and instead of going to the huge buffet she had planned for us (which we convinced her to take us somewhere small due to late lunches and MCs) we strolled around a small temple with fabulous scenery.

We ate some street food for dinner instead of that huge dinner... but it turned out to be huge anyway.

Cat and I took a bus to the Tainan HSR train station and it took us only 1 1/2 hrs to get back to Taipei that night. But, instead of going straight home, we decided to hang out with John's USA visitor friends, RJ, CJ, and Kieth. We left our luggage at their place while we went to Babe 18 and then NY Bagels for a midnight snack. :)
Today was definitely a long day, traveling from one point of the island to another. Yet, we made it back safely in Taipei. <3 Until next time (with or without pictures...)
