Taitung Gives you Wiiiiiings

Woke up early... again.  It's somewhat irritating to have to wake up early unexpected.  Cat and I would both really appreciate it if they told us a time to wake up by, that way we can set an alarm for ourselves.  We can be reliable, you know.

We went with A-gong and A-ma to go to gramp's mountain to pick lychee.  Today was a beautiful windy morning~

View of the beach on the 5 minute drive to our destination

Almost there... look at the view!
We got up there and it was pretty hot.  A-ma made us wear these purple jackets because she thought we would be too hot directly under the sun.  Isn't it just as hot wearing a jacket in 30 degree Celsius weather?  We picked some lychee from one of the trees..... it was really fun.  A total success!

Target aquired (no, not A-ma... the tree)

Ripe for the picking

Purple jackets... already starting to roll them up

Little did you know that we are standing at the edge of a very steep hill...

Catherine's mutated lychee!  She was so proud of her find....

Bloop... and survey says, it's sweet!  :D

Yes, yes.... scenery is amazing.  The mountains are much higher than the clouds up there!

The lychee picking crew!

Look at our huge basket.... we're sending them to Uncle Winston and Nai-nai in Taipei
We took a short break at home before heading out again.  There were these amazing flowers that smelled so strong... I've never smelled such a strong floral scent from any flower before in my life.

We left A-gong's shop to head to Taitung City.  Since none of us ate lunch, we had to make mom jealous once again- only this time, we had sausages and dan bing (egg pancake) filled with goodies.... *drool*

The shop!

Sausage & sticky rice x2!

Absolutely delicious... all of these were only $1 each!
We headed over to the eyeglass store to look for some frames that Catherine could afford.  It was a successful endeavor in that Cat got some CUTE glasses with transition lenses, and both of us got a good haul of colored contacts.  They are so cheap here.... we took the liberty of buying a good stash to take home.

Cat checking her prescription
We did a bit of shopping (first time since we got here!  Maybe we're going through withdrawls).  Bras from Taiwan are seriously the best- great support, comfort, and great quality.  We picked up our first Asian pizzas (from Pizza Hut... lol).  They were pretty good, but once again, filling.

Takoyaki pizza!

Meat pizza with balls/pockets of cheese.... amazing!
A-ma is always outdoing herself.  Not only did she get a pizza, but she made 3 veggie dishes, cooked a fish, and had sashimi (raw tuna and salmon) for dinner.  An odd combination of food, but all delicious nonetheless.

A-gong eating the fish head *gag*
Once again, we feel stuffed.  We immediately climbed our 3 flights of stairs and took a break.  A vicious cycle: Eat -> Sleep -> Eat -> Sleep...

Full.
Big plans for tomorrow- at least we know we need to leave by 9am (it's still no use- even if I set my alarm clock for 8am, they'll still come in and wake us up at 7:30).
