Cooking Show

Once again, today was off to a late start. We left our hostel at 3:30 after trying to plan out the day (it was extremely difficult due to plans made this weekend, so we didn't want to do anything twice).  We ended up starting off the day going to caffe bene, a chain coffee house that served the best waffles and gelato!  We got the special plate with 2 types of waffles, caramel & expresso gelato, and different sliced up fruit placed beautifully. 

We headed to our hostel's main office, the Yellow Submarine Headquarters (as we like to call it).  Mary was kind enough to help us with reservations to a musical show called Nanta! which is the longest playing musical show in Korea (since 1999).  It is also ranked in the top 10 things to do in Korea.  Mary gave us the reservation number for the tickets and also offered us a rather unique opportunity.  She wanted us "foreigners" to get interviewed by SM productions about how wild we were about artists such as Super Junior, Big Bang, etc.... they really wanted people who were huge fans to interview!  hahaha Not being the big SJ fan, Cat and I politely declined, but we know many of you in the states who would be fantastic to interview as fans.  ;)  Yeah, you know who you are......

We walked over to the performing hall and we were the talk of all the tourist groups.  "Wa, zhen gao!" is what they all kept saying ^^;;  Little did they know we understood everything they said!  Anyway, the show was awesome because Catherine got to make buns on stage in front of everyone!!  hahaha It was a really fun show overall.  :)  It was about cooking a huge meal for a wedding in 1 hour, and lots of music, drumming, beats.... great rhythm.

We decided to walk around Hongdae and do a little bit of window shopping, which turned out to be more of a shopping spree.  Bought some headbands, bows, and special items from Watson's. 

We were starved and decided to grab special items at Paris Baguette, a franchise bakery (yes, we went to all the franchise places- even though they're everywhere in Korea, they're the first and only time we're ever tried it!).  We didn't eat it though- we passed by this curry shop that was packed and decided to try it out.  I ordered this pork rice curry, served with kimchi style turnip, soup, and ice tea.  I have to admit, it was pretty good (or maybe we were just really hungry... nonetheless, we weren't disappointed).

Now, we're back in the guesthouse (I was wrong, we weren't in a hostel... this is suppose to be a guesthouse) and possibly waiting for night time-- it's Friday, and it's time for clubbing.  ;)

PS. Wonder why there aren't any pictures?  It's because this genius right here left her USB cable at home.  :(  BUT, be sure there will be pictures once I get back!!!
